STARPoint #5 Let It Go

When you are faced frustration, disappointment and you find yourself fighting an uphill battle; when things don't go the way you wanted, the way you planned, or the way you hoped, sometimes the best thing you can do is let it go. Let it go. Just because things don't go the way you want them to, does not mean you won't get what you need for your life.

I was listening to Joel Osteen the other day. He was talking about when his father was ill. Joel said he prayed every single day. He prayed and wished and hoped with full faith that his father would live but in the end, he died. Joel admitted at first he was devastated. He kept asking "why, God? Why would you take this good man, a man who turned his life around and created this church that serves over 3000 people? This can't be right."

For a long while Joel was troubled by the fact that his prayers were not answered, that his father's life was not saved. Joel said, eventually however, he had to let it go because he wasn't making any progress in his own life. But what Joel found, was when he did finally let it go, he was able to step into his destiny.

Joel turned his father's 3000 member church into a mega church with over 20,000 members. It is the largest and fastest growing churches in the country. Joel services hundreds of thousands through television, books and cd's. His reach has eclipsed his father' reach many times over. But in order for all that to happen, in order for Joel to step into his destiny, he had to let go of the frustration, and disappointment that his prayers for his father's life seem to go unanswered. What Joel created would have been possible if he had not let go of the fact that his father's time had passed.

My question to you: What is it you need to let go in order to step into your destiny?
